The Transitions project provides opportunities for invited young people who attend Friday Fun who are aged 16+. These sessions help them experience independent living skills such as ordering their own food and drink in restaurants, table etiquette, social etiquette, communication skills and paying for entrances/food/drink with cash (money skills) with their friends, and with support from Friday Fun staff.
We plan evening sessions that will take young people out and about to a range of places to take part in different activities. We have enjoyed the following activities to date:
January – go to the pantomime
February – meal out
March – zoo night
April – bowling trip
May – crazy golf
June – theatre trip
July – meal out
August – Weston beach trip with fish and chip dinner
September – bowling trip
October – cinema trip
November – meal out
December – ice skating and Christmas shopping
All monthly sessions are held on either the 2nd or the 4th Friday of each month, or occasionally on a Saturday or during the day in school holidays depending on the activity we will be enjoying.
